Bobcats Come Off Tough Loss, And Score a Big Win

As the South Loup Bobcats boys basketball team continues their domination over their opponents this season, they have their sights set on a tough subdistrict in two weeks and all the wildcard points they can bank. The only way to get those critical wildcard points is to keep winning - they are doing just that.

Bobcats Finish Regular Season, Next Stop - Districts

The South Loup Bobcat wrestlers traveled to Loup City last Friday to compete in their last regular season tournament of this season as they turn their sights to districts and then state this week. The Bobcats finished seventh as a team at the Rebel Duals, defeating Kearney Catholic 33-30 and Central Valley 33-27, but falling to Wood River 36-39 and Neligh Oakdale 24-57.

Big Win & Tough Loss For Lady Bobcat’s Week

The Lady Bobcats basketball team (12-6) split a pair of games on the road last week, beating the Mullen Broncos 41-29 on Friday, but losing to Southern Valley 33-49 on Saturday. On Friday, the Broncos couldn’t keep up with the Lady Bobcats as they kept sinking the buckets - the score at the end of the first quarter was 12-7.

Lady Cats On Their Way to Cinderella Season

The South Loup Lady Bobcats (11-5) just keep stacking on the wins and accolades this season - the most recent feather in their cap - Mid-Nebraska Activities Conference (MNAC) Champions. A rough start to the season, losing four of the first five games, didn’t stop them from improving and striving to play to the top of their ability.

The South Loup wrestlers had a quiet week with a single meet at Central Valley last Friday. This was the biggest meet yet this season for the Bobcats, with 23 teams and 218 wrestlers all competing for a place on the podium.

Bobcats Continue Dominance On The Court

Just like the impending snow storm, the South Loup Bobcats boys basketball team walloped the Arcadia- Loup City Rebels at home last Tuesday, racking up points and winning 57-24. In a repeat of the game against Brady the week previous, everyone on the bench had varsity playing time and nearly every player put points on the board.

Lady Bobcats Roll Over Rebels

The Lady Bobcat basketball team extended their win streak last Tuesday when they beat the Arcadia-Loup City Lady Rebels at home by a score of 40-27. The first quarter started very well for the Lady Bobcats, scoring 17 points to the Lady Rebels 3 points.
