Callaway native Jeff Meyer, the son of Jerrold and the late Nadia Meyer, was one of five individuals inducted into the Wayne State Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, Sept. 12, in Wayne at the Frey Conference Suite in the Kanter Student Center.

The Schreyer Memorial Monument located northwest of Callaway on the river road was dedicated Sunday afternoon, Sept. 26. The rose colored marble monument was erected by descendants of the pioneer family and includes a historical background of the family.

The South Loup Bobcats chalked another mark in the win column last week with a 56-0 blowout over the Franklin Flyers in Arnold on Thursday, Sept. 24.

The South Loup cross country team had a long break between competitions, which may be both a good thing and a bad thing. After running at the Ravenna Invite on Sept. 17, the Bobcats were finally back on the course on Monday, Sept. 28, at the highly competitive UNK Invitational in Kearney.

The South Loup volleyball team had a busy week as they played five matches over two days. First up was a triangular at Elm Creek on Tuesday, Sept. 22, followed on Saturday, Sept. 26, by a tournament in Sutherland.

A big win last Friday, Sept. 18, extended South Loup’s win streak to three, as the Bobcats held on to hand the Hemingford Bobcats its first loss of the season.

The South Loup cross country team traveled to Ravenna on Thursday, Sept. 17, for an invitational meet, with the Bobcats earning 4 medals and placing three women in the top 20.

The South Loup volleyball team traveled to Brady on Tuesday, Sept. 15, to compete in a triangular with Brady and Bertrand.

The South Loup football team improved its record to 2-1 following a dominating win over the Hi-Line Bulls in Eustis on Friday, Sept. 11.

It was a tough week for South Loup volleyball last week, as the Lady Bobcats played four matches but were unable to come out on top in any of them. The stretch began on Thursday, Sept.
