The South Loup cross country team traveled to Ravenna on Thursday, Sept. 17, for an invitational meet, with the Bobcats earning 4 medals and placing three women in the top 20.

Senior Jade Bierman finished the race with a time of 23:42.9 to earn the 6th-place medal. Also finishing in the top 15 for the Bobcats was sophomore Chloe Coleman, whose time of 25:18.7 was good for 12th place overall. Delanie Weinman also earned a medal as she finished with a time of 25:59.3 in 19th place.

Lia Russell ran a time of 29:06.7, Tasia Trotter finished with 31:11.5, and Danielle Burd ran a time of 33:00.5. There were a total of 84 runners who started the women’s division at the meet, and 78 who finished.

The South Loup women finished as runner-up in the overall standings in the 16-team field, an impressive feat. Amherst claimed the women’s team championship with Bertrand finishing third.

On the men’s side, Walter Bierman ran a time of 19:42.4 to finish in 14th place out of 124 runners. He was the only South Loup representative in the men’s division.

The Bobcats have this week off and will return to the course on Monday, Sept. 28, for the UNK Invite at the Kearney Country Club. Racing begins at noon.
