In their final regular season outing of the year, the South Loup Bobcats dropped a 67-55 decision to the SEM Mustangs on Friday, Feb. 20 at home. A decisive third quarter created separation in a game that was tight through the opening half, sending the Bobcats into sub-district play with an overall record of 9-12.

Bobcat Ballers Split the Week, End on a Strong Note

The Bobcat boys basketball team showed plenty of grit and try over this past week, rebounding from a tough road loss against the Anselmo-Merna Coyotes on Tuesday to answer with a commanding home victory over the Hi-Line Bulls to bring their late season record to 9-11.

STATE BOUND! Pair of Bobcats Punch Their Ticket

The Bobcat grapplers fought their way through the District D-4 tournament in Bartley last weekend, Feb. 13-14, and came away with two state qualifiers for their efforts. Paxton Bierman and Josiah Coleman each triumphed over some tough opponents, ending the day on the podium.

South Loup Boys Sweep the Weekend

The South Loup Bobcats capped off a strong weekend of basketball with a pair of well-earned wins, hamstringing the Mullen Broncos in a 54–45 victory on Friday, Feb. 6 before hitting the road to take a 60–46 win over Southern Valley on Saturday, Feb. 7. The two successes showcased South Loup’s balanced scoring and veteran presence, with the trio of solid seniors Dylan Pandorf, Conner Paulsen, and Crew Witthuhn leading the charge.

Bobcats Gather Hardware, Head For Districts

It was a whole new story for the South Loup wrestlers this week, and they found plenty of success to smile about at the Arcadia-Loup City Rebel Invite on Friday, Feb. 6. Three of the five athletes that competed came home with a medal for their efforts, and the other two fell just short in some tough losses.

Lady Bobcats Drop Games Against Mullen, Southern Valley

The South Loup Lady Bobcats continued to battle through a challenging season with a pair of losses over the weekend, falling 68–29 to Mullen on Thursday, Feb. 5, and 46–18 to Southern Valley on Friday, Feb. 6. The setbacks dropped South Loup to 0–16 on the year, but the young squad continues to show growth in effort and competitiveness despite a tough schedule.

Bobcats Split MNAC Tournament Games

The South Loup Bobcat boys basketball team concluded its MNAC tournament run with a split on the week, falling to Mullen on Monday, Jan. 26 before bouncing back with a decisive win over Arthur County on Friday, Jan. 30.
