Bobcats Stage a Comeback Against Coyotes, Fall to Wolves

The South Loup Bobcats opened their subdistrict tournament with a 56–39 victory over the Anselmo- Merna Coyotes on Tuesday, Feb. 24, before falling to the Twin Loup Wolves in Thursday’s semifinal, 72–50. With that loss, the Bobcats closed out a season that showed steady growth in the boys’ offensive and defensive efforts, culminating in an increasingly successful run towards the end. The three senior leaders – Crew Witthuhn, Dylan Pandorf and Conner Paulsen – shone on both ends of the court and pushed the team to their 10 total wins for the year.

Coleman and Bierman Represent Well at State Contest

After a year of grit, try and hard work, our two senior Bobcats headed for Omaha last weekend. The state tournament was held at the CHI Health Center Feb. 19-21, and the South Loup scramblers hit the mats on Friday and Saturday, coming home with a record of 1-2 for Josiah Coleman and 0-2 for Paxton Bierman.
Josiah Coleman works to get Daltan Dugan of Central Valley to the mat in last week’s state wrestling tournament in Omaha. It was the last match for Coleman in what has been a great year and career for him.

Bobcats Drop Home Contest Against Mustangs

In their final regular season outing of the year, the South Loup Bobcats dropped a 67-55 decision to the SEM Mustangs on Friday, Feb. 20 at home. A decisive third quarter created separation in a game that was tight through the opening half, sending the Bobcats into sub-district play with an overall record of 9-12.

Bobcat Ballers Split the Week, End on a Strong Note

The Bobcat boys basketball team showed plenty of grit and try over this past week, rebounding from a tough road loss against the Anselmo-Merna Coyotes on Tuesday to answer with a commanding home victory over the Hi-Line Bulls to bring their late season record to 9-11.

STATE BOUND! Pair of Bobcats Punch Their Ticket

The Bobcat grapplers fought their way through the District D-4 tournament in Bartley last weekend, Feb. 13-14, and came away with two state qualifiers for their efforts. Paxton Bierman and Josiah Coleman each triumphed over some tough opponents, ending the day on the podium.
