BOBCAT WRESTLERS GAIN MOMENTUM AND MEDALS

The South Loup Bobcats wrestling squad continued to build experience and confidence on the mat with back-to-back tournament appearances at the Twin Loup Invitational and the Anselmo-Merna Coyote Invitational, highlighted by multiple podium finishes and strong individual performances.

So Close For Lady Bobcats as Season Begins

The South Loup Lady Bobcats kicked off the 2025 season on their home court on Friday, Dec. 5, as they hosted the Twin Loup Wolves. The game proved to be a battle to the finish, and when the final buzzer sounded, it was the Wolves getting the win in a tight 35-33 game.

BOBCATS EARN TWO MEDALS IN SEASON OPENING MATCHES

The South Loup wrestling team kicked off the 2025-26 season on Friday, Dec. 5, as they travelled to Elwood to compete in the Hi-Line Invitational. It was a good start for the Bobcats, as Josiah Coleman wrestled his way to a silver medal and Paxton Bierman earned a bronze medal on the day.

Bobcat Basketball Eyes Another Strong Season

After a standout 18-5 season in 2024-25, the South Loup Bobcat boys basketball squad heads into the 2025-26 campaign with high expectations and a roster ready to prove itself once again. While the team has 18 players out this year, the Bobcats face the challenge of replacing five key contributors from last season’s squad, including Harper Johnson, AJ Starr, Ethan Furne, Carter Wood, and Caleb McFate.

As the South Loup Bobcats wrestling team gears up for the 2025-26 season, Head Coach Todd Phelps enters his eighth year with the program and seventh as head coach, bringing experience and steady leadership to the mat. Assisting him this year are Gavin Robertson and Zac Sweet, who will help guide both the varsity squad and younger wrestlers.
