Bobcats Earn Two Medals, Finish Runner-Up at Thedford

South Loup was one of nine schools represented at the invitational golf meet in Thedford on Thursday, April 22. North Platte St. Pat’s shot the low score as a team, finishing the day with 342. South Loup finished as runner-up, though they tallied the same score as Mullen with 362.

The individual low score of the day was shot by two Mullen golfers. Jacob Walker and Ben Werner each carded a 75. Third place went to Landon Shepherd of St. Pat’s with 80. Kason Larson of Burwell shot 81 for fourth place, and South Loup’s Crew Witthuhn finished fifth overall with an 81.

Other Bobcats results included Haydn Stretesky with 87 for ninth place overall. Callan Witthuhn shot 98, and right behind him by two strokes was Dawson Downing with 96. Kyson Stretesky rounded out the team, shooting 115.

The JV team hosted a triangular in Arnold on Monday, April 27, while the varsity golfers spent the week preparing for the conference meet being held back on the course in Thedford today, April 30.

The Bobcats will not get a break as they hit the links again on Friday, May 1, in Overton for a 9 a.m. start.

Next week will also feature two meets, as the Bobcats will head back to Thedford on Wednesday, May 6, and then to North Platte St. Pat’s on Wednesday, May 7.
