The South Loup Bobcats chalked another mark in the win column last week with a 56-0 blowout over the Franklin Flyers in Arnold on Thursday, Sept. 24.

The Bobcats basically had their way with the Flyers as they amassed 305 yards against the Franklin defense, all on the ground. Freshman Cruz Mason led the assault, gaining 71 yards on 9 carries and scoring a touchdown. Right behind Cruz was senior Elijah Cool, with 70 yards on 7 carries and 3 touchdowns. Sophomore Jett Morgan got the ball only twice, but rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown. The other touchdown came from senior Wacey Schultz, who picked up 11 yards on 3 carries.

Several Bobcats got in on the action. Junior Mike Corliss had 8 carries for 35 yards; junior quarterback Tysen Schacher carried the ball 5 times for 39 yards; sophomore Remi Flynn had 13 yards on 4 carries; and sophomore Dawson Downing picked up 5 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, Downing and freshman Jaxsen Schacher each picked off a Franklin pass. Schultz, Mason, sophomore Jacob King, and junior Brody Green each recovered a Franklin fumble.

Morgan ended the night with 7 total tackles to lead the South Loup defense, with T. Schacher right behind him with 6. Cool and senior Noah Anderson each had 4 tackles. Anderson and King were also each credited with a sack.

It was a confidence-boosting win for the Bobcats as they head into their Homecoming game this week. The 4-1 Bobcats will host the 2-3 Arapahoe Warriors on Friday, Oct. 2, with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. in Callaway.
