Lady Bobcats Dominance at the Net Continues

Coming off their seventh consecutive Seven Valleys Tournament win, the South Loup Lady Bobcats volleyball team (7-3) completely dominated their home triangular last Tuesday against Dundy County-Stratton 2-0 and another win against Brady 2-0.

Bobcats Drop Hard-Fought Battle Against Falcons

Even though the South Loup Bobcat football team added a loss to their record on Friday, Sept. 9, against Hitchcock County, they accomplished many things no other team has done yet this year against the Falcons, including the offense scoring more than 8 points, racking up more than 100 yards rushing and more than 70 yards passing, and the defense holding to less than 40 points. The final score was 24-36.

Tough Week at The Net For Lady Bobcats

The South Loup volleyball team (2-3) battled two tough Class C1 teams at home last week and came up short in both games, falling to Kearney Catholic 0-3 and Gothenburg 0-3. On Tuesday, Sept.

Lady Bobcats Claim Home Tournament Title

The Medicine Valley Raiders threatened to steal the championship plaque from the Lady Bobcats during the 38th Annual Seven Valleys Volleyball Tournament in Callaway, and nearly did by forcing three very close games. But the Bobcats dug deep and found the focus and tenacity to win and bring home the top placing for the seventh consecutive year.

Recoy Breaks School Record - Again

The South Loup Bobcat cross country teams traveled to Cozad on Saturday for their second high school meet of the season and had two placers, despite not having a full girls team this week. The junior high team had one placer.
The high school boys placed 9th as a team, and junior Logan Recoy placed 4th individually with a time of 18:14.2. The boys running this week were Recoy, Josiah Coleman, Caleb McFate, and Eli Rogers.
The high school girls only had two runners this week, but sophomore Ivy Tullis placed 9th with a time of 22:45.

Season Off to a Good Start For Lady Bobcats

The Lady Bobcats (2-1) treated fans to a show Tuesday in their home opener triangular at Arnold with an easy win 2-0 over Mullen and an exciting victory over rivals Anselmo-Merna 2-0.
“Tuesday was a great night for the team as a whole,” said head coach Desiree Guthrie. “Everyone got a chance to see the floor and get some great touches on the ball.”
It was all South Loup the first set against Mullen with a final score of 25-7. The Lady Bobcats ran away with the lead early in the set with a 15-4 lead over the Broncos.

Bobcats Pull Out Thrilling Victory to End Drought

 Fans young and old turned out in full force Friday evening, Sept. 2, to watch the South Loup football team earn their first win in Arnold since 2019 - and they thrilled fans with a high-energy victory over Maywood/Hayes Center, with a final score of 64-8.
This week the offense stayed grounded with 450 rushing yards and 53 passing yards in 48 plays. Three Bobcat players rushed for more than 100 yards: Trey Connell with 197; A.J. Starr with 109; and Conner Paulsen with 106. Connell had all 53 passing yards.

Lady Bobcats Open Season in State Fair Match-Up

AMANDA WEHNES The South Loup Bobcat volleyball team opened the season at the prestigious Bill Marshall Classic Tournament at the Nebraska State Fair on Saturday, and brought home a loss against Burwell 0-2. The Lady Bobcats struggled with passing in the first set, hitting the net instead of getting to Talli Martin, the senior setter.
