Gold Medal And Co-Op Record Cap Bobcat Career For Stallbaumer

The It was a gold-medal, record setting type of weekend - the sun was shining, the haze had left the sky, the winds were (mostly) calm, and the South Loup track teams were ready to compete. At the end of the weekend, they had claimed three medals and broke six co-op records.

Bobcats Take Runners-Up Before Ending Season At Districts

The Bobcat golf team had weather made for golfing last Wednesday in Mullen - warm, sunny, and calm - and they took full advantage of the beautiful conditions to bring home runner-up team honors and a 4th and 9th place medal. The team had a season-best 360 points, a full 22 points over their previous team best.

Bobcats Qualify 10 Tracksters For State Meet In Omaha This Week

The South Loup track teams are Burke-bound again this season! Following a strong showing by both teams at the C-8 District tournament at Southern Valley on Thursday, 10 athletes - 6 boys and 4 girls - qualified for the state meet at Burke High School in Omaha May 19-20. The top two placers in individual events and the top relay teams automatically qualified for state.

Bobcats Finish Regular Season Strong - Ready For Districts

In the final regular meet of the season, the Bobcats track teams each brought home runner-up honors at the Dave Blevins Memorial Track Meet, hosted by Sandhills Valley at Arnold last Thursday. Both the boys and girls finished behind North Platte St. Pat’s teams, but garnered quite a few individual honors.

South Loup Student Athletes Honored At Annual Banquet

South Loup student-athletes, coaches, and their families gathered in the Callaway Schools gym last Thursday to celebrate the successes of each sports season in the 2022-23 school year. The Outstanding Senior Athlete awards were given to Ava Pandorf of Callaway and Lance Jones of Arnold for their contributions to South Loup athletics during their four years of high school.

Bobcat Men Champs, Ladies Runners-Up At MNAC

The South Loup boys track team landed back on top of the leaderboard at the Mid-Nebraska Activities Conference (MNAC) track meet last Thursday in Arnold. They stood atop the podium with 118 points, a full 6 points ahead of the runners-up.

Good Week On The Course For Bobcat Golfers

The South Loup golfers had an incredibly successful week on the links this past week, bringing home multiple medals from both JV and varsity meets. The varsity team traveled to Mullen on Thursday to compete in the Mid-Nebraska Activities Conference (MNAC) tournament.

Lady Bobcats Dominate At Overton, Boys Are Runners-Up

It’s been a long, wet, and windy spring for the South Loup Bobcat track team, yet these talented thinclads continue to dominate the track and field. Last Tuesday, the teams traveled to Overton for the Eagles annual invitational meet.

Bobcat Golfers See Great Improvement

The Bobcat golf team hit the links in Thedford last Thursday on a chilly day for some of the best golf they’ve played all season. Three of the five players set new season records for themselves - Joey Sallach improved his season best score by 4 points with 95 strokes; Harper Johnson shot 100, nearly 10 strokes above his season best; and Grant Hrupek cut 2 strokes off his previous season best with a total of 104.
South Loup junior Joey Sallach had a new season best score of 95, and placed 10th at the Thedford golf tournament last week.
