Bobcat Golfers Kick Off Season On Friday

The South Loup Bobcats are ready to hit the links as this year’s golf season tees off with 15 athletes on the roster, including 10 who are new to the game. Head coach Jarod Rush is excited to watch his team grow and improve as the season drives on.

Coach Chesley Expects Big Things From Bobcat Track

The South Loup track teams, coming off a very successful season last year, are looking at capitalizing on that success to carry them even farther this spring. Of the 17 state qualifiers last season - 12 on the girls team and five on the boys team - 13 have returned this year.

Bobcats Open Track Season At UNK Indoor Meet

The South Loup track teams opened their season on Saturday at the University of Nebraska Kearney annual indoor track meet, competing against other Class C and a handful of Class B teams. The Bobcats brought home a host of medals while competing against much bigger teams such as Hastings High School and Ord High School, as well as local rivals Sandhills/Thedford and Hyannis.

Bobcats See Tremendous Season Come To A Close

The South Loup boys basketball season came to an unceremonious end Saturday morning, with the update of a website. As the Class D1 wildcards were assigned and the district finals were announced, the top four wildcards were drawn, but the Bobcats sat in fifth place.

Basketball Season Comes To a Close For Lady Bobcats

The South Loup Lady Bobcats (15-7) saw the end to their season on Tuesday with a loss to Southern Valley in the second round of the C2-11 sub district tournament at Southern Valley High School. The Lady Bobcats beat the Lady Sailors of Sutherland 56-30 on Monday during the first round of play.

Lone State Qualifier Narrowly Misses Podium

After losing part of last wrestling season and all of this year’s football season to a persistent knee injury, Dawson Doggett (24-11) had a singular goal for this wrestling season - to qualify for the state tournament.
