Two Callaway junior high students have qualified for the National Junior High Rodeo Finals. Olivia Doggett and Quinton Boeser are both members of the Nebraska Junior High Rodeo Association. Olivia is a 7th grader at Callaway Public Schools and Quinton is an 8th grader at Callaway Public Schools.

It was a great showing for the Bobcats, as the South Loup track and field team qualified nine boys and nine girls in seven events each, for the Nebraska State Track and Field Championships in Omaha this past weekend.

The South Loup men’s and women’s track and field teams competed in the NSAA D-8 District Meet in Paxton on Wednesday, May 13. It was a great day for the Bobcats, as the girls brought home the District Championship trophy and the boys were District Runners-Up!

In their final regular-season meet of 2026, the South Loup golf team traveled to Mullen on Wednesday, May 13, where they were one of eight schools represented in the tournament. The Bobcats ended the day in second place in the overall team standings, with four of the five varsity members finishing in the top 10 and earning medals.

The Bobcats hosted the Dave Blevins Memorial Invite in Arnold last Friday, May 8 and both the boys and girls had a banner day, taking home second place honors overall. The meet was their last regular season competition for 2026, and they faced a field of nine total teams, including Sandhills Valley, Sandhills/ Thedford, Arthur County, Overton, Mullen, Anselmo- Merna, Brady, and North Platte St. Pat’s.

The South Loup sports banquet was held on Monday, May 4, in Arnold, with many athletes being recognized for their hard work throughout the season. The South Loup JV men’s golf team competed in Thedford on Wednesday, May 6, with six schools represented at the meet. The Bobcats were joined by Broken Bow, Hershey, Mullen, North Central, Sandhills/Thedford, and Valentine.

The South Loup Bobcats hosted the Mid Nebraska Athletic Conference (MNAC) track and field championship on Friday, May 1, and what a day it was! The South Loup women’s team finished as Conference Champions, with the men ending the meet as Conference Runner-up.
