Four Bobcats Punch Ticket To State Meet

South Loup ended their regular season on the track on Thursday, May 9, when the men’s and women’s teams traveled to Ord for the Class C-8 district meet. The Bobcats qualified four athletes for the Nebraska State Track & Field Championships which begin tomorrow, May 17, in Omaha.

Bobcats Finish District Runners-Up, Qualify For State Golf Meet

Monday, May 13, was a successful day for the South Loup golf team at the D-3 district meet, played at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course. The Bobcats ended the day with two district medalists and district runners-up in the team standings, qualifying the team for the NSAA Boys State Golf Championships.

Bobcats End Regular Season At Home Invite

A handful of South Loup track and field team members made the trip to Sutherland on Tuesday, April 30, to participate in the Best of the Midwest invitational. Logan Recoy was the lone men’s medalist for the Bobcats, finishing in 6th place in the 800m run with a time of 2:06.71.

Bobcats See Final Week of Golf Season

The South Loup golf team battled the wind in back-to-back meets last week, beginning with the North Platte St. Pat’s Invite on Thursday, May 2. Seventeen teams participated in the highly competitive meet, and though the Bobcats did not have a top-10 finisher on the day they shot very consistently as a team.

Terry Pettit is a retired American volleyball coach. He was the head women's volleyball coach at Nebraska from 1977 to 1999, where he led the Cornhuskers to the school's first NCAA national championship in 1995. Bobcats Claim Men's Conference Title

It was a good day to be a Bobcat, as the South Loup boys’ track team was crowned MNAC champs with the Lady Bobcats finishing third in team scoring at the conference meet on Thursday, April 25. Individual gold medals for the Bobcats were won by Logan Recoy who ran his fastest time to date in the 800m, Rio Remund in the shot put, and Ethan Furne in long jump.

The South Loup golf team took on the four other schools in the Mid-Nebraska Activities Conference (MNAC) at the annual conference golf meet in Broken Bow on Tuesday, April 23, and at the end of the day the Bobcats were crowned MNAC Champs!

Bobcats Tie For Second At The STK Golf Invite

The South Loup golf team made the trip to Thedford on Thursday, April 18, to compete in the 10-team Sandhills-Thedford invite. The Bobcats played well, and at the end of the day, the team had finished in a tie with Sandhills Valley for 2nd place. Anselmo-Merna won the team championship plaque.
