The South Loup Bobcats picked up their second win of the season with a strong performance against the Hi-Line Bulls on Friday, Sept. 6. The game had its rough moments, but the Bobcats showed they can stay in control and stand their ground.

It’s been a tough start to the 2024 season for the Lady Bobcats volleyball team as they now have three games under their belts and have yet to find their way to a win. On Tuesday, Sept.

The South Loup football team came into the 2024 season with the mindset that they have something to prove, and that came through in their opening game of the season on Thursday, Aug. 29. It was a battle of the Bobcats, as the Hemingford Bobcats came to town to meet the South Loup Bobcats in Arnold, and it was South Loup coming away with the W 54-36.

Cross country has the shortest season of any high school sport, which makes putting in the work during the off season so important. For the South Loup runners, that work seemed to pay off as they brought home lots of hardware from their season opening performance.

The Bobcat volleyball team saw their share of struggles during the 2023 season and are looking to improve on their 11-19 record in 2024. The team enters the season with a new head coach, Michelle Preston, and a fresh perspective.

Fall sports practice for Callaway High School officially began on Monday, Aug. 12. Though the Bobcats have lost some key players from last year in each of their sports, and a couple of coaching changes have occurred, the student athletes are gearing up for another great season.
