On Friday, Oct. 18, the South Loup Bobcats delivered a commanding performance, defeating the Arcadia Rebels with an outstanding score of 56-0 in their final regular season game at Callaway.

The Bobcats came out strong, scoring 22 points just in the first quarter. South Loup got on the board first with a 17-yard touchdown pass from Dylan Pandorf to Ethan Furne. AJ Starr converted the 2-point PAT. Conner Paulsen rushed the ball in for two more TDs in the quarter, one from 10 yards and one from 15.

In the second quarter, South Loup maintained their dominance, scoring an additional 18 points. Starr ran the ball in from the 16-yard line, Paulsen added a 29yard TD run, and Furne returned a 44-yard punt for a score. All three PAT attempts failed.

The Bobcats entered halftime with a commanding 40-0 lead, leaving the Rebels struggling to compete with the Bobcat’s relentless defense and offense. The second half saw South Loup continue their onslaught, scoring an additional eight points in both the third and fourth quarters. Paulsen scored on a 34-yard run in the third, and freshman Tysen Schacher added to the scoring with a 35-yard rushing TD, followed by a successful two-point conversion in the fourth quarter. Schacher’s skills continued to stand out as he contributed both on the ground and through the air, finishing with 70 rushing yards and impressive receiving plays though only a freshman.

“We played well and played as a team, and our mistakes were minimal,” Furne said.

Defensively, South Loup was unstoppable, limiting the Rebels to zero points and only three first downs throughout the game. The Bobcats recorded 47 total tackles, with senior AJ Starr leading the team with 10 total tackles, 3 for lost yardage.
