The South Loup cross country team competed at the Broken Bow Invite on Saturday, Sept. 14, against some of the best runners in the state in Class C. When all the points were totaled, the Bobcats finished in fifth place overall in the men’s division, with defending state champions Gothenburg winning the meet.

Jaden Bush was the top finisher for the Bobcats, coming in 17th with a time of 18:36.57. Josiah Coleman crossed the line in 21st place with a time of 19:08.95. Dawson Mason’s time of 20:01.06 put him in 31st place, while Walter Bierman finished in 39th place.

The ladies duo of Ella Cool and Ivy Tullis once again picked up medals for the team. Cool recorded a time of 21:39.99, good for the 4th place medal. Tullis’s time of 22:48/68 earned her the 12th place medal.

Cool and Tullis are the only female runners for the 2024 Bobcats cross country team but have made their presence known in every meet they have participated in thus far this season.

The team is back on the course today, Sept. 19, at Ravenna. Race time is set for 4 p.m.
