The Mid-Nebraska Activities Conference has released its all conference girls and boys basketball selections. South Loup honorees include: Girls 1st Team: Ava Pandorf, Bryn Schwarz Girls 2nd Team: Taylor Ross Boys 1st Team: Cache Gracey, Trey Connell Boys Honorable Mention: Silas Cool

All Veterans are invited to join in a celebration in honor of the American Legion’s birthday at the Callaway Post #59 on Sunday, March 19 at 2 p.m. Please join them for cake and ice cream!.

The students and staff of Callaway Christian Academy have come up with a unique learning and fundraising opportunity. Steve Sommer, director of the Academy, developed a love for old time radio shows as a child, and wanted to share some of that history and nostalgia with the students at the Academy.

Each Friday during Lent, the Knights of Columbus groups from across Custer County invite everyone to join them for their weekly Fish Fry. Last week’s fry, on March 10, was held in Callaway at the Community Center, and as always there was a large turnout.

Twenty-four 3rd-6th grade girls from Arnold and Callaway practiced learning the fundamentals of basketball from early December to mid-February. They had practices once a week along with having some fun!

After discussions at both the January and February board meetings, and an open community forum on the issue, the Callaway School Board has elected to not move forward with plans to extend the existing preschool to a full-day program.
