The students and staff of Callaway Christian Academy have come up with a unique learning and fundraising opportunity. Steve Sommer, director of the Academy, developed a love for old time radio shows as a child, and wanted to share some of that history and nostalgia with the students at the Academy.

Great Food, Good Friends, Countywide Lenten Event

Each Friday during Lent, the Knights of Columbus groups from across Custer County invite everyone to join them for their weekly Fish Fry. Last week’s fry, on March 10, was held in Callaway at the Community Center, and as always there was a large turnout.
A large crowd from all across Custer County gathered to enjoy a fish supper at the Callaway Community Center on March 10.

Young Lady Bobcats in Training For Roundball

Twenty-four 3rd-6th grade girls from Arnold and Callaway practiced learning the fundamentals of basketball from early December to mid-February. They had practices once a week along with having some fun!

Expanded Preschool Program Is No-Go Next Fall

After discussions at both the January and February board meetings, and an open community forum on the issue, the Callaway School Board has elected to not move forward with plans to extend the existing preschool to a full-day program.
