Bobcats Wrestlers Finish 3rd in LC Duals

The South Loup wrestling team traveled to Loup City on Friday, Feb. 2, participating in a dual tournament and their final regular season meet. The Bobcats finished in third place in the 10-team tournament, defeating Central Valley in the third-place match. Results by match are as follows.

You can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely South Loup's strategy against the Mullen Broncos on Friday, Feb. 2. The Lady Bobcats walked away with a 36-26 win over the Broncos. The win made it back-to-back wins for South Loup.

Bobcats Finish as Conference Runners-Up

Last week the Mid Nebraska Actvities Conference (MNAC) met in Broken Bow for the annual conference basketball tournament. On Monday, Jan. 22, the South Loup Bobcats and Brady Eagles met in Callaway for the first-round game.

The South Loup Lady Bobcats were on the road to Brady on Tuesday, Jan. 23, to face the Lady Eagles in the first round of the MNAC (Mid Nebraska Activities Conference) tournament. It was the first meeting of the season for the two teams.

Bobcats Suffer Heartbreaking Overtime Loss

On Jan. 16, the South Loup Bobcats traveled to Arcadia to play the Arcadia-Loup City Rebels. The game had a fast start for the Rebels as they hit five 3-point shots in the first quarter. The strong shooting would put the Rebels ahead of the Bobcats at the end of the first.

Lady Bobcats Suffer Rough Loss, Head to MNAC

South Loup's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday, Jan. 16, after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 56-29 loss at the hands of Arcadia/Loup City. South Loup was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-12.

Weather Puts Kabosh On School And Events

Last week’s weather left residents feeling more like they were living in Alaska than Nebraska! Snow, wind, and wind chill temperatures of more than -20, prompted Gov.
