Bobcats Tie For Second At The STK Golf Invite
The South Loup golf team made the trip to Thedford on Thursday, April 18, to compete in the 10-team Sandhills-Thedford invite. The Bobcats played well, and at the end of the day, the team had finished in a tie with Sandhills Valley for 2nd place. Anselmo-Merna won the team championship plaque.
The Bobcat golfers were neck-in-neck in scoring, with Cache Gracey leading the team. Gracey had a very consistent game, shooting 43 on both the front and back nine holes for a final of 86, good for 6th place overall. Right behind him was Joey Sallach, who carded 45 in the front nine and 42 in the back, to finish in 7th place with 87 strokes. Just one stroke behind him was Dawson Doggett, shooting 42 in the front and 46 in the back nine for a total of 88 and 9th place.
The top golfer on the day was Brady Haake of Sandhills-Thedford who shot an impressive 36 on the front nine and 38 on the back nine, to finish with 74 strokes.
Other South Loup individual results were Hadyn Stretesky who finished with 98, and Harper Johnson who carded an even 100. The total team score for the Bobcats was 359, just four strokes behind the champion Coyotes.
The Bobcats were in Broken Bow on Tuesday for MNAC golf; results were not available at press time. The team is in Overton tomorrow, April 26.
