Callaway Alum Earns College Rodeo Honors

SUMBITTED BY ANGIE KUNKEE Dalton Kunkee is a 2021 graduate of Callaway High School and is currently attending South Dakota State University where he is studying to become a cattle nutritionist. Dalton was a qualifier in the steer wrestling at the College National Finals Rodeo held last month in Casper Wyoming.

South Loup's 8-Man All Stars

Two South Loup athletes were selected to participate in the Sertoma 8-Man All-Star football game on Saturday, June 15, in Hastings. Trey Connell and Joey Sallach represented the Bobcats on the West All-Star team, who came away with an easy 22-6 victory.

Doggett Finishes Second, Heading To National Finals Rodeo

The Nebraska High School Finals Rodeo took place this past week in Burwell, where contestants were looking to add to their point total for the year in hopes of qualifying for the National High School Finals Rodeo. The top four finishers in each event earned the right to represent Nebraska in the National Finals set for July 14-20 at the Sweetwater Events Center in Rock Springs, Wyoming.

Bobcats Selected For Summer All-Star Games

Recent graduates from teams that make up the Mid Nebraska Activities Conference met recent grads from teams that make up the Minuteman Activities Conference Saturday in Mullen for the 3rd annual MNAC vs MAC girls and boys all-star basketball games on Saturday, May 25. The night belonged to the MNAC all-stars.

Season Wraps Up For Bobcat Golfers

The South Loup men’s golf team concluded their 2024 season at the NSAA Class D Boys State Golf Meet on May 21 and 22, played at Lake Maloney Golf Club in North Platte. In Round 1 play on Tuesday, Dawson Doggett led the Bobcats with a 92.
