The Lady Bobcats had a busy week on the volleyball court last week with a triangular on Tuesday and a tournament on Saturday.

The week began as the Bobcats hosted a triangular with Anselmo-Merna and Elm Creek in Callaway. The first match of the day saw South Loup take on the Lady Coyotes in a game that would come to the wire. The teams went point-for-point in set one, which went in to extra points before Anselmo-Merna finally got the win 27-25.

Set two picked up where the first left off in a fierce battle between the teams. The Coyotes were able to claim the victory 25-21.

The Bobcats then faced Elm Creek and after the hard-fought first game South Loup struggled to get things going in the second. The Buffaloes took the game in two sets, 25-10 and 25-15.

On Saturday, Sept. 28, the team traveled to Sutherland for a tournament that saw the Bobcats play three games. Their first opponent was the Southwest Roughriders who came away with an easy victory in two sets, 25-6 and 25-8, proving why Southwest has not been beaten yet this year.

Next up for the Lady Bobcats was the host team Sutherland. The Bobcats held their own against the Lady Sailors during the first set, eventually dropping the set 18-25. However, Sutherland was much more aggressive in set two and took the win 25-8.

The final game of the tournament saw South Loup against Hyannis. Once again the Lady Bobcats had some good rallies in set one and did not allow Hyannis to gain a huge lead. They eventually lost the set 21-25. Hyannis had all the momentum going into set two and won it 25-13.

South Loup continued to look for their first win of the season as they traveled to Ansley to take on the Spartans on Tuesday. Results were not available at the time of press. This evening, Oct. 3, they are in Sargent for a triangular.
