Conference Champs!
The South Loup golf team took on the four other schools in the Mid-Nebraska Activities Conference (MNAC) at the annual conference golf meet in Broken Bow on Tuesday, April 23, and at the end of the day the Bobcats were crowned MNAC Champs!
The team of Cache Gracey, Joey Sallach, Dawson Doggett, Haydn Steresky, and Harper Johnson combined for the low score of the day of 387 to claim the team title. The low individual score of the meet was carded by Anselmo-Merna’s Colin Cooksley of 84, followed closed by teammate Aaron Bartak with 86. The Coyotes finished second in team scoring with 402, with Sandhills Valley taking the third place spot with 414.
Steresky had the low score for the Bobcats of 91, finishing with a 47 on the front nine and 44 on the back nine. Gracey ended the day with 48 strokes on both halves of the course for a total of 96, followed by Sallach with 99. Doggett shot a 101, and Johnson 108.
The golf team is back in action today at North Platte St. Pat’s, and will be back on the road on Friday for a 9 a.m. tee time at Overton.
