A Hillbilly Goes Hunting

A hillbilly went hunting one day in Oklahoma and bagged three ducks. He put them in the bed of his pickup truck and was about to drive home when he was confronted by an ornery game warden who didn’t like hillbillies. The game warden ordered the hillbilly to show his hunting license, and the hillbilly pulled out a valid Oklahoma hunting license.

Legion Auxiliary Prepares For Busy Holiday Season

The Callaway American Legion Auxiliary monthly meeting started at 6:30 at the Callaway Legion Hall on Nov. 11, 2024. Our President Jane Lashley called the meeting to order. Our chaplain Joyce read the prayer. We said the Pledge of Allegiance, sang the Star Spangled Banner and recited our Auxiliary Preamble.

Rempe Honored For 50 Years of Volunteer Service

Fifty years is a long time for someone to serve as a volunteer EMT for the Oconto Rescue Squad, but Jan Rempe has done just that. Jan, her husband Jim, and several others in attendance at a retirement celebration for Jan, were in the first class to get EMT certified back in the 1970s. Jan has kept her certification up to date ever since by taking annual training to keep up her hours.
Past and present Oconto EMTs who have served with Jan Rempe joined in celebrating her retirement.
