Bobcat Wrestlers Face Six Teams in Dual Tournament

The South Loup boys’ wrestling team competed in a dual tournament at Burwell on Friday, Dec. 20. The Bobcats faced off on the mat against S-E-M, Ravenna, Southern Valley, Hi-Line, Centura, and Sandhills-Thedford. Results of each of those duals for the South Loup wrestlers are as follows.

Bobcats Pick Up Third Consecutive Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better. That's what South Loup did as they secured a close 66-62 W over the Medicine Valley Raiders on Friday, Dec. 20. Winning may never get old, but the Bobcats are sure getting used to it with their third in a row.

Three of Five Bobcats Medal at Anselmo-Merna Invite

The South Loup boy’s wrestling team took five athletes to the Anselmo-Merna Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 14, and came home with three medals. As a team the Bobcats finished in 10th place overall in the 16-team field. The Grand Island JV team won the tournament.

Week Two Was a Winner For The Bobcats

Bobcats Earn Lots of Hardware at Season-Opening Meet

The 2024-25 South Loup wrestling season is underway and the Bobcats have high goals and expectations for this year. Building off of a wealth of experience on the mat, sixth-year Head Coach Todd Phelps will be looking to his senior leadership to guide the ship.

Hardwood Season is Underway

Jeff Cole is in his 26th season as head coach of the South Loup boys’ basketball team. He is joined on the court by assistants Mike Weverka and Travis Sherbeck. The Bobcats are returning six letter winners from last year’s team, including three seniors. Those returning are seniors Harper Johnson, Caleb McFate, and Carter Wood, and juniors Conner Paulsen, Dylan Pandorf, and Crew Witthuhn. Coach Cole also noted a few players who aren’t returning letter winners but who could be key contributors to this year’s squad.
