Final Week of Golf Season, Bobcats Prepare For Districts

The South Loup boys' golf team traveled to Thedford on Wednesday, May 7, to compete in the Mid-Nebraska Activities Conference (MNAC) golf meet. Two of the Bobcats earned conference medals, with Harper Johnson finishing 4th overall with an 85, and Bo Brennan was 7th with a 95. No other results from that meet were available.

Bobcats Bring Home Conference Champion and Runner-Up

The South Loup men’s and women’s track teams competed in the Mid-Nebraska Activities Conference (MNAC) meet on Friday, May 2, held in Arnold. The Bobcats had a great day, with the men’s team finishing as conference champions and the Lady Bobcats coming home with the conference runner-up plaque.

The South Loup Bobcats had a light week of track and field last week, with only one meet on the schedule. The teams traveled to Overton for an invitational on Tuesday, April 22.

The South Loup boys’ golf team made the trip to Thedford on Monday, April 28, to compete in the Sandhills/Thedford tournament. Mullen had the low team score of the day of 355, to win the meet. The individual low score of the day was a 76, shot by Brady Haake of Sandhills/Thedford.

Bobcat Track Teams Collect Hardware Galore

The South Loup boys’ and girls’ track teams traveled to Burwell on Thursday, April 17, to compete in a 13-team tournament. The Bobcats had a good day, with the boys finishing third in the team standings and the girls ending the day in fourth place overall.

Bobcat Golfers Have Good Day in Broken Bow

The South Loup boys’ golf team competed at the Anselmo-Merna 9-hole quad tournament on Tuesday, April 15, held at the Broken Bow Country Club. The low team score of the day was shot by the Broken Bow JV team, with the South Loup varsity team finishing with a total of 212.

Bobcats 2nd, Lady Bobcats 1st, at South Loup Invite

The boys' and girls’ track teams hosted the South Loup Invitational on Friday, April 11, with the Lady Bobcats winning the team championship by 10 points while the boys’ team was only 2 points off the lead to finish as runners-up in the team standings. There were a total of 13 teams competing in the meet.

South Loup Hosts Golf Tournament in Arnold

South Loup played host to a nine-team golf tournament in Arnold on Friday, April 11. The Bobcats finished in 6th place in the team standings as unfortunately none of the team members finished individually in the top 10.

Bobcats Golf Season Underway With Two Meets in First Week

The South Loup boys’ golf team kicked off the 2025 season on Monday, March 31, after the Sandhills Valley meet at Stapleton was rescheduled due to State FFA. That meet was originally set for Thursday, April 3, with the South Loup JV team planning to compete. However, the change in the date allowed Coach Jeff Cole to take his varsity squad to Stapleton, along with a couple of JV players to tee off the season.
