Open Fire Ban Continues

The temporary open fire ban at Nebraska Game and Parks locations is continuing due to widespread drought and dry fuels, persistent fire weather patterns and the danger of human-caused wildfires. Camp stoves and fire pits fueled by liquid gas, however, will be permitted effective immediately at Nebraska state park areas and wildlife management areas.

Callaway Church Welcomes New Pastor

Morning Star is a small independent church with a big heart located southwest of Callaway. The Church operated without a full time Pastor for several months until Ed Lashley of Morning Star connected online with Michael Garner of Tennessee.
Pastor Michael Garner, daughter Dorothy, and wife Deborah have relocated to Callaway from Tennessee to assume the lead role at Morning Star Church. The couple said they are excited to make Callaway their home and get to know the local people. (Photo courtesy Jo Chesley)

No matter how many years have passed, most of us remember our Homecoming. Typically, the football jocks recall details of the game that night, while we girls tend to reminisce on the dress we wore or who our date was. No matter what details come to mind, Homecoming makes lasting memories.

Take Advantage of Tax Credit For Giving to Foundation

The Callaway Community Foundation exists solely to promote the Callaway community by supporting projects and individuals that exemplify the unique qualities of this town. A group of volunteers who make up the foundation’s board meet monthly to come up with ideas on how to do that, and ideas for raising the funds needed to accomplish those goals.
