50 YEARS AGO:

Callaway placed second with 97 points and Ansley finished first, scoring 122 and ½ at the Callaway Girls’ Track Invitational hosted Friday, April 18. Four new records sparked the wintery- spring day Friday, marked in the discus, 80-yard hurdles, 880 relay, and the mile.

20 YEARS AGO:

A new scholarship program for graduates of Callaway High School has been created thanks to a large bequest from the estate of Glen V. Johns. The bequest for the scholarships is for a little more than $300,000 ensuring that the new scholarship program will be able to function for many years.
