Amber Ross had been named one of Central Nebraska Economic Development District’s Community Development Specialists. Amber started with CNEDD in October of 2021.

National American Legion Family Day was celebrated at the Callaway Legion Hall on the evening of April 26. Hors d'oeuvres were provided by Auxiliary Unit #59 for the “come & go” event. It was a time of fellowship to honor all Legion Family members including the American Legion, the Legion Auxiliary, and the Sons of the American Legion. Skylar Ellison is a member of the 2024 class of Callaway High School and will be taking the stage to receive her diploma this weekend. She shared a little about herself and her goals with her peers during her senior presentation.

A sufficient blood supply is important to ensure patient needs are met. Donors of all blood types are encouraged to donate blood on May 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Callaway Community Center to help save lives.

Shown are Museum volunteers Dave Chesley, Tom Smith, and Steve Miller at a recent work day in the vintage machinery area east of the Seven Valleys Museum Annex. Clutter and debris were removed and several pieces of machinery were moved and organized. This allows safer walkways for visitors. Museum projects and updates continue as time and funds permit. Volunteers are always welcome; contact numbers are posted inside the main Museum entryway. 

Adams Land & Cattle (ALCC) is excited to be sharing their nutrient-rich and organic compost with local gardeners during their fifth annual Adams Compost Days. Custer County residents are encouraged to bring buckets and stop at their loadout facility, just north of the South Lot entrance on Highway 21.

Journalists from across the state gathered in Lincoln over the weekend for the 151st Annual Nebraska Press Association state convention. The convention features two full days of workshops and networking opportunities designed to inspire and educate newspaper writers, photographers, editors and publishers.
