Outdoor Christian Festival Draws Huge Crowd of Fans

Body For the 12th year thousands of people converged on Lake Helen in Gothenburg for the Livin’ Out Loud music festival, and organizers agreed this was another very successful event. LOL Board President Joe Wahlgren said crowd estimates on Saturday evening, Aug.
Livin' Out Loud is an outdoor Christian music event held each year in Gothenburg that attracts thousands of people from all across Nebraska and beyond. American Legion Auxiliary Changes Meeting Time

Body The Callaway American Legion Auxiliary monthly meeting started at 6:30 at the Callaway Legion Hall on Aug. 12, 2024. Our President Jane Lashley called the meeting to order. Our chaplain Joyce read the prayer.

Village Naturalist: Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog

Body I heard a bullfrog calling. It seemed kind of late in the year for bullfrog breeding but he was calling away. Male bullfrogs sit around a water source and call hoping a female will be attracted to the call.

Body Classes resume for the 2024-25 school year at Callaway Public Schools on Thursday, Aug. 15, and several new faces will be greeting the students in the classrooms and hallways this year.

Terminating a Verbal Farm Land Lease

Body Some farm leases are not written but are verbal or 'handshake' agreements. Because nothing is in writing, the parties may have different recollections of their agreement, making lease disputes more difficult to resolve.
