CCSO Participates In ‘And Then It Clicked’

Body
From May 20 to June 2, the Custer County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the “And Then It Clicked” campaign. “We want seat belt use to be an automatic habit for drivers and passengers alike, it’s not just a safe thing to do — it’s the law.” During the “And Then It Clicked” campaign, we’ll be working with our fellow law enforcement officers across local and state lines to ensure the message gets out to drivers and passengers. Buckling up is the simplest thing you can do to limit injury or save your life during a crash. We see the results of not wearing a seat belt all the time. We see the loss of life. So often, it could have been prevented. Buckle up and stay safe!

Board Grants Early Graduation Request

Body
Board Grants Early Graduation Request There is a common theory that by the second semester of their senior year of high school, most students become extremely unsettled and distracted - to the point that a name has even been given to the behavior - “Senior-itis”. First Election Requiring Photo ID

With turnout for a primary election, especially one without many contested races or controversial issues, traditionally being on the low side, it is difficult to know if the requirement made any difference in the number of people going to the polls.

Offering Gratitude For What Didn’t Happen

Body
After watching my partner complete 33 treatments of radiation, I sat in the waiting room on the last day offering gratitude. Yes, I was relieved the treatments were over. Driving 60 minutes each day to the cancer center was taxing. Cutting the work day short five days a week took a toll. And watching the side-effects accumulate over time was concerning. So, the relief was palpable on the last day.
