FCCLA Chapter Qualifies Four Teams For Nationals

The Callaway FCCLA team hit the ground running as they headed to Lincoln for the State convention and competition on April 6-8. Their first stop was the Cheesecake Factory where they reportedly “ate a fantastic lunch and purchased some delicious cheesecake”.

Banner Year For CHS Speech Team

The Callaway speech team ended their tremendous season with a rare accomplishment for the school - a district runner-up team plaque, and an appearance at the state meet. On March 28, eight Callaway High School students were given an escort out of town on their way to Kearney to represent their school in the state competition.

Nebraska Gospel Fest Coming to Callaway

Nebraska Gospel Fest, hosted by Pastor Mike Garner of Morning Star Church, will be held April 26-27 at the Callaway Community Center. The event will be headlined by one of the biggest names in Gospel music Lauren Talley.

Register Now For Annual Walk For Life

The 24th Annual Walk for Life will be hosted in 10 communities this year on May 3rd and 4th. This is a fundraiser for the Women's Resource Center in North Platte. Each person who participates in a 2-mile Walk for Life is encouraged to find sponsors to support their walk.

CHS Students Experience State FFA Convention

Callaway High School took a big contingency of students to the Nebraska State FFA Convention, which convened on April 4, in Lincoln. The group started their first day off with a tour of UNL’s Splinter Labs and got to drive robots used in agriculture. The Ag Mechanics, Floriculture, and Environment and Natural Resources teams competed and some of the kids went to an Expo in Pinnacle Bank Arena to learn about colleges, leadership, and to get goodies! The day ended with the Opening Session at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Precious Angel Daycare Center in Broken Bow manages two locations in Callaway. The infant center is located on Stebbins Street, and is operated under the management of Stephanie McInstosh. There are currently four babies in the infant center.

The preschool program at Callaway Public School is under the direction of Elementary Principal Brittany Jesseph and taught by Jennifer Hickenbottom. The CPS preschool has operated now for nine years in the district and currently serves 23 children of preschool age.
