Activities Planned For Holiday Weekend

Body Once again, Callaway is the place to be for 4th of July fun. The Sue Phelps family will carry on their annual tradition of sponsoring and organizing a community fireworks display to be held at the ballfield at dusk.

Body Larry Mowry reported to the Callaway Chamber of Commerce that the Callaway Village Board had voted to give $2,400 for the building of a tennis court in Morgan Park. The Chamber formed a committee to get voluntary labor to form the foundation and run the cement for the court.

Masonic Temple is Getting a New Look And New Purpose

Body The Masonic Temple has been a fixture in Callaway for almost as long as there has been a town. In recent years, as the Lodge membership has dwindled, the building has not been used much and has fallen into disrepair. That is changing, and so is the appearance of the old building.

Keeping Our Kids Engaged

Body Finding things to keep kids entertained during the summer months, things that don’t involve electronic devices that is, can be a challenge. Maddie Dockweiler understands that and decided to do something about it.
