SUPERINTENDENT’S CORNER: Update From CPS

Body
One Goal, 710! It is posted all over the school this Spring, but what does it mean? Our admin team, with the help of a group of teachers, has set a testing goal for the kids. We are shooting to raise our aggregate scores for NSCAS English Language Arts, NSCAS Math, NSCAS Science, and Junior ACT, 710 points from the winter assessment scores. This goal makes us one team and encourages all of our students to put forth their best effort on the spring assessments that are reported to the state department of education.

Body
As we age, life brings unique joys and challenges. From the happiness of watching grandchildren grow to the difficulties of navigating health changes or loss, these experiences can shape our mental and emotional well-being. While some challenges may feel isolating, they don’t have to be faced alone. Group therapy offers a powerful way for older adults to find support, share experiences, and heal together.

There are currently two proposed bills being reviewed by the Nebraska Legislature which could change how we tell time in our state moving forward. I have been doing a lot of contemplating on the issue in recent weeks, trying to decide which one I would be more in favor of - Daylight Saving Time or Central Standard Time - all the time.
