Community Improvements Addressed

Body The final step in the process of changing ownership of a Callaway business has been completed. At their regular monthly meeting on July 22, the Callaway Village Board unanimously approved a request for a liquor license for Sand Creek Bar, formerly Henry’s Bar.

Body 50 YEARS AGO: Over 80 persons from Callaway, Arnold, Stapleton, Oconto, and Eddyville attended a meeting at the Callaway fire hall in a fight to keep the Kearney railroad branch open between Stapleton and Arnold. Larry Mowrey of Callaway Ag Service presided over the meeting.
