Callaway’s first Pioneer Picnic was held in 1933 in conjunction with the dedication of the first Custer County Courthouse in the town’s Morgan Park. Since then, only World War II has prevented the celebration from taking place.
The Callaway American Legion Honor Guard traditionally leads off the Pioneer Picnic parade, which is set this year for Saturday, June 28, beginning at 10:45 a.m. Lunch will be available in Morgan Park following the parade, and the car show will get underway at noon.
