Bartley and Kaylee Brogan of Callaway announce the birth of a daughter on Jan. 22, 2024, at Gothenburg Health. Oakley Marie Brogan was born at 11:03 a.m. weighing 8 pounds 11 ounces and measuring centimeters in length.
The Priest met Mary O’Brien and asked what she was concealing under her cape. She said it was holy water. The priest reached for the bottle, uncorked it and sniffed. “Why, Mary,” he exclaimed, this isn’t holy water, this is gin.” where upon Mary crossed herself and said: “Glory be to God, another miracle!”

The Nigel Sprouse Memorial Library Soup Lunch will be held this Sunday, Feb. 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Callaway Community Center. The lunch is a free will donation. Come support the event as these proceeds go towards the library’s operating expenses for the year.
The Callaway American Legion Auxiliary has placed a Valentine's Box for the Veterans at the Nigel Sprouse Library. If you feel like making Valentine, any and all are welcome. Just take them to the Library and place them in the box. The box will be picked up on Feb. 9.

It was a great year of giving in Custer County. The Custer County Salvation Army Bell Ringing collected $11,621! We’d like to thank everyone who donated and took time out of their busy schedule during the holidays to ring. We had more than 60 volunteers this year!
