Cats! This morning I awoke to find three cats sleeping on me. One was across my feet, one between my legs, and our 18-year-old Tom next to my chest and face. Cindy, on the other hand, was sleeping cat-free. Usually, the old Tom sleeps on her, but not last night. I couldn’t help but think, “Why me?”

Callaway Public School has released the fourth quarter and second semester honor roll for grades 5-12. The following students qualified for that distinction during the last quarter and/or semester of the 2023-24 school year.

National Poppy Day is observed on the Friday preceding Memorial Day. On Sept 27, 1920, the red poppy became the official flower of Legion Family. Poppies represent the blood shed during wartimes and the servicemen who have died in battle while serving our country.

While many of their classmates were being honored for scholarships received and future college plans, two members of the Callaway High School Class of 2024 were recognized for choosing a different path.

Timothy A. Rosentrater, age 62 of Callaway, appeared in Custer County District Court on Thursday, May 23, where he had 13 additional charges filed against him.

The Custer County Sheriff's Office is receiving grant funding assistance for obtaining two in-car camera systems according to Bill Kovarik, Administrator of the NDOT Highway Safety Office.
