Terminating a Verbal Farm Land Lease

Body
Some farm leases are not written but are verbal or 'handshake' agreements. Because nothing is in writing, the parties may have different recollections of their agreement, making lease disputes more difficult to resolve.

Body
Starting tomorrow band buses and semis packed with sound equipment and instruments will begin pulling into Gothenburg. Lake Helen will look somewhat like an ant hill, with workers busily scurrying about setting up a stage and fencing for the 12th annual Livin’ Out Loud.

Meet Your Admins: A Matter of Princip(al)

Body
*Editor’s Note: Classes resume for the 2024-25 school year at Callaway Public School one week from today. We realize there may be families who are new to the Callaway school district, or have kiddos starting to school for the first time. Knowing the people you are choosing to leave your children with for eight hours a day can help bring a little bit of peace of mind in the midst of the chaos. Last week we took an opportunity to get better acquainted with Superintendent JD Furrow. This week we feature the other two CPS administrators.

MEET YOUR ADMINS: The Buck Stops Here

Body
*Editor’s Note: Classes resume for the 2024-25 school year at Callaway Public School two weeks from today. We realize there may be families who are new to the Callaway school district, or have kiddos starting school for the first time. Knowing the people you are choosing to leave your children with for eight hours a day can help bring a little bit of peace of mind in the midst of the chaos. For the next three weeks we will introduce you to the three CPS administrators, and the staff members joining the district this year. We begin with Superintendent JD Furrow.
JD Furrow began his first year as superintendent of Callaway Public Schools on July 1, and is looking forward to greeting the students when the doors open for the 2024-2025 school year on Aug. 14. Until then, he is enjoying all the family time he can get and snuggles with his grandson, John. (Courtesy photo)
