The Bobcats dominated the Ansley-Litchfield Spartans in a head-to-head boys' basketball game on Thursday, Jan. 23. The Bobcats hosted the Spartans for their last game before the conference tournament.
The Lady Bobcats took on the Arcadia Loup-City Rebels on Tuesday, Jan. 21 in Callaway. Although the Lady Rebels came out with the win in the end, by a score of 36-17, the Lady Bobcats have shown tremendous growth over their season so far.
So far this season the 6-man South Loup boys’ wrestling team has accumulated 20 medals, won seven duals, and after last week can call themselves conference champions. The Bobcats competed in the SEM Invite on Friday, Jan.
The Lady Bobcats basketball team came out fighting strong against the Maxwell Wildcats on Jan. 17. The girls had a very strong first half, scoring 15 points in the first quarter down by only three against a strong team with a 6-8 record.
On Thursday, Jan. 9, the South Loup Bobcat boys had a fast-paced game against the Sandhills-Thedford Knights. The game started strong with the Bobcats scoring 15 points in the first quarter. This included a 3-point play where senior AJ Starr saved the ball from going out of bounds to pass it into Crew Witthuhn who went up for 2 and drew a foul, earning him another point.
The Bobcats came off of back-to-back wins to finish out their week in front of the home crowd at Callaway on Saturday, Jan. 11, as they hosted the Bertrand Vikings. South Loup came out strong, seeming to have picked up where they left off in their previous two games. However, the Vikings made it clear they were not going down without a fight.
