Body It is always fun to take some time at the beginning of a new year to remind ourselves of all that took place over the previous year. This week, we feature some of the stories that made Courier headlines during the first few months of 2025.

Body Several Callaway merchants are joining together to be sure the first baby born in the Callaway Hospital has a good start in life. Almost $180 worth of gifts for the family as well as the baby will be awarded.

CHS Alum Named to Dean’s List

Body A total of 372 Doane University students made the university's Fall 2025 Dean's List. To make the Dean's List, undergraduate students enrolled on the university's Crete campus must earn a grade point average of 3.70 or higher in at least 12 graded credits during the semester.

Finding Her Voice

Body Natalie G’Schwind has been writing poetry for as long as she can remember. “I didn't realize it was poetry until I took a writing class in college and heard a poet reading his work.

Body The boys' basketball holiday tournament will be held in Brady on Dec. 29-30. Teams that will participate will be Callaway, Brady, Wallace, and Oconto.
* The photo below appeared in the Dec. 22, 2005, edition of the Callaway Courier. Reindeer Hayley Stryker, Rebecca Still, and Michaela Waverka are baffled because Santa somehow fell off his sleigh. It was not until penguins found him that the big night was saved in the elementary school production of “The Penguins that Saved Christmas” on Dec. 6, 2005.
