New Curriculum and Next Year’s Calendar Approved

Some people may not be aware of the planning and behind-the-scenes work that goes into selecting the curriculum used in the classrooms of public schools. At Callaway Public School, a committee is in place that reviews materials and makes recommendations as curriculum updates become necessary.

Annual Visitors Turned Community Residents

The community of Callaway has several little gems that make up the backbone of the town. A wellstocked locally owned grocery store and hardware store, a state-of-the-art medical facility, an outstanding school system, and a high-quality nursing home, to name a few.

High School Students Invited to Youth Leadership Camp

Youth who are sophomores or juniors in high school in a public or private school, or who are homeschooled and have an interest in learning about and developing their leadership potential, are invited to apply for the Great Plains RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) program. Local Rotary Clubs will review applications, conduct interviews, and make final selections to send participants to Great Plains RYLA camp July 13-17, 2026, at Camp Maranatha near Brady.

Jeff Headley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Headley of Callaway, was awarded the Eagle Scout Badge at special ceremonies held March at the United Methodist Church in Callaway.
