The Lady Bobcats volleyball team (4-7) was looking for a chance to avenge a home loss from two weeks ago when they hosted the Sandhills-Thedford Knights in Arnold on Friday. Despite winning the first set, the Knights controlled the next three sets to deal the Lady Bobcats another home loss, 3-1.

The Bobcat cross country team keeps pushing forward this season, and showing great improvements and having great successes as the season progresses. Last Thursday they ran at Ravenna and brought home four more medals to add to their tallies for the year, and improving over last season’s times on the same course.

The South Loup Bobcat football team (2-0) continues to dominate on the field with another double-digit win over the Maywood-Hayes Center Wolves last Friday, 5413. The Bobcats ran the ball with ease against the Wolves, with sophomore Conner Paulsen scoring three touchdowns for 18 points, junior AJ Starr adding another touchdown for 6 more points, senior Trey Connell scored 4 points with two PATs, and Dylan Pandorf added 2 points with a PAT.

The Lady Bobcat volleyball team (1-2) continued their road trip this season with a game last Friday at Maywood-Hayes Center. The Bobcats fell in four sets to the Wolves, who finished fourth in the state tournament last year in Class D1.

The Bobcat cross country team overcame the hot weather and runners from much larger schools to add more medals to their collection this season. The Cozad Invitational meet on Saturday, Sept.

The South Loup football team is looking to capitalize on last season’s success and continue their upward momentum as they start a new season. Last fall, the boys had their first winning season in four years, with a 6-4 record and making it to the second round of state playoffs.

The Lady Bobcats volleyball team has a young, but talented roster heading into this season. Last season the team had a 21-8 record and were narrowly knocked out of the race for the state tournament in the final game of sub-districts.

With all of their runners returning, and the addition of two new members, the South Loup cross country team is off and running this season. Last season, the Bobcats saw great success with three runners qualifying for the state meet, consistently improving personal records at each meet, and improving their times each week.

The South Loup Bobcat cross country team was off to a strong start to the season with a hot race day in Burwell last Thursday. The start time, originally slated for 4 p.m., was moved up to 9 a.m.

The South Loup Bobcats football team took very little time on Thursday to show their fans just how they are going to play this season - score first, score fast, and score often - and mop the field with their opponents.
