Body Jim Bennett, local town marshal, warns local citizens of the apparent theft of rifles out of parked pickups. If you keep your firearms in your pickup, lock your doors. Reports have also been made of missing fuel in the area. Report it immediately if your fuel has been stolen.

Christmas Wreaths For Fallen Veterans

Body While many small towns might go into hibernation this time of year, Callaway becomes a hub of holiday activity. This week the Chamber of Commerce hosted the annual Christmas Around Town celebration, which included a vendor show and soup supper at the Community Center.

Body Custer County Sheriff Dan Osmond reports that as of Dec. 1, 2025, there were five males and no females lodged in the Custer County Jail.

Body 50 YEARS AGO : Most area residents spent last Sunday digging out after a weekend storm. The 30 to 40 degree temperatures we experienced Monday and Tuesday were welcomed with open arms.
