Local Bank Employees Voluntarily Give Back

On Sept. 9, all employees of First Interstate Bank in Callaway proudly participated in Volunteer Day by lending a hand at the Callaway Community Center. Over the course of four hours, the team performed a deep cleaning throughout the facility, tackling a significant portion of the work.

America’s Bicentennial will provide the theme for Callaway High School’s annual Homecoming week set for Sept. 29 - Oct. 3. The Litchfield Trojans will provide this year’s opposition for the football agem, and a change in the coronation procedure will provide for introducing and crowning of this year’s royalty immediately following the game.

The Nebraska Corn Growers Association (NeCGA) gathered more than 700 signatures during this year’s Husker Harvest Days in support of key legislative priorities for corn growers across the state. The signatures advocate for priorities that directly impact growers, including year-round, nationwide access to E-15 fuel, the implementation of vital trade agreements and updates to Farm bill provisions.

Approved After hours of discussion and debate, two board meetings, and hearing from members of the public, Callaway Public Schools finally has a new dress code policy. Well…almost.
There was a full house in attendance at the Sept. 9 meeting of the Callaway Board of Education, with the primary point of interest being a discussion on adopting a new student dress code policy.
