Three Callaway men have joined forces to create a new business, as if all three weren’t already busy enough! Abe Hinman, TR Anderson and Tim Rosentrater each have full-time jobs, are involved in the community, and now are co-owners and operators of Lodi Seed Services, LLC.

Date Change For Annual Veteran’s Soup Supper

Make plans now to join American Legion Auxiliary Unit 59 of Callaway for their annual fundraiser soup & dessert supper to be held Nov. 12 from 5-7 p.m. at the Callaway Community Center. This is a date change that will allow our Veterans and their families the opportunity to attend various Veteran's Day programs and festivities held in out-of-town venues.

Breast Cancer Awareness 5K This Saturday

This Saturday, Oct. 21, FCCLA members Jazlynn Bechtold and Maggie Birkel will host a Breast Cancer Awareness 5K. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Callaway Community Center. The race starts at 9 a.m. Walking, running, and bike riding are welcome.

Fire Department Hosts Public Training Class

The Callaway Volunteer Fire and Rescue will be hosting a community CPR & AED training on Wednesday, Nov. 1, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Callaway Fire Station, 110 E. Kimball St. Cost for the training is $20. Upon completion, you will receive your American Heart Association Heartsaver certification. They say you are attracted to and marry a woman much like your mother. In my case that must be true because both my mother and my wife hate to cook, they both like a glass of wine, though Mom preferred a sweet Moscato while everyone knows that Cindy is a chardonnay girl. Oh, and they both are allergic to no-see-ums.
