Upland Bird Season Now Open

Nebraska’s pheasant, quail, and partridge seasons opened on Oct. 28. Historically, hunters swinging on game and firing outside of their safe zones of fire have been the primary cause of upland bird hunting incidents. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission reminds hunters to make sure safety is at the forefront of every hunt by following the four basic rules of firearm safety: Treat every firearm as if it is loaded. Always point the muzzle of your firearm in a safe direction.

Date Change For Annual Veteran’s Soup Supper

Make plans now to join American Legion Auxiliary Unit 59 of Callaway for their annual fundraiser soup and dessert supper to be held Nov. 12 from 5-7 p.m. at the Callaway Community Center. This is a date change that will allow our Veterans and their families the opportunity to attend various Veteran's Day programs and festivities held in out-of-town venues.
