Worship With Thousands This Weekend in Gothenburg

Within 48 hours from the time this paper hits the newsstand, thousands of people will be converging on Gothenburg for the area’s biggest event of the year - Livin Out Loud. The outdoor Christian concert averages more than 10,000 attendees, which is nearly three times the population of Gothenburg.

Nebraska sorghum growers, agribusiness professionals and industry partners are invited to attend the 2025 Nebraska Sorghum Field Day on Mon., Sept. 8, at 5:00 p.m. The event is hosted by Nebraska Grain Sorghum Board Chair Scott Nelson at his farm near Axtell, with supper provided following the program.

Verabelle Lanora Hamilton was born at 2:17 p.m. weighing 8 pounds 1 ounce and measuring 19.5 inches in length. Verabelle is being welcomed by a brother, Gideon Cooper Hamilton, and sister, Nyx Cia Hamilton. Grandparents are Mark and Joan Hamilton of Nampa, Idaho, and Michael and Jayna Porter of Orem, Utah.

This past weekend saw hundreds of people with the need for speed converge on Arnold and Callaway for the 25th annual Sandhills Open Road Challenge. Along with the road races, the drivers also got a chance to show off their prized automobiles - and though I don’t understand all about horsepower and mechanics, I do appreciate a pretty car.
