Callaway And Arnold Gearing Up For Speed

The communities of Callaway and Arnold share a number of things; sports teams and several school functions, medical professionals, and a school activities director. And each summer the towns share an event that brings a lot of people to the area - the Sandhills Open Road Challenge (SORC).

Clara Grae Cooper was born at 12:32 weighing 8 pounds 13 ounces and measuring 21.5 inches in length. Callaway Toppled By Tornadic-Force Winds

For the second time in as many years, severe weather has left Callaway residents facing devastation and a massive cleanup. It has also left the townspeople very thankful. Thankful no one was hurt, and thankful for good neighbors.

Severe Storm Damages Callaway...Again

A severe thunderstorm packing incredibly strong straight-line winds rolled through Callaway during the early morning hours on Saturday, July 29, leaving residents without power for hours and downed trees all over town in its wake. Scenes like the one pictured were visible on every block in town. By Saturday evening, power was finally restored to all residents. Clean-up efforts will continue for several days.
