Giving Kids a Brain Break

If you are a parent or grandparent, you completely understand the challenges that come with trying to keep children’s minds focused and their attention on one thing for more than five minutes. That is the quandary that our elementary teachers face on a daily basis.
A program for lower elementary students at Callaway Public Schools known as Bear Cave is designed to help students relax their minds and refocus their attention. Bear Cave founder Wendy Dockweiler said the district has seen very positive results. (Photo courtesy Stephanie Ross)
