50 YEARS AGO:

Jeff Headley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Headley of Callaway, was awarded the Eagle Scout Badge at special ceremonies held March at the United Methodist Church in Callaway.

An all-sports banquet to honor all athletes of Callaway High School will be held March 26, 1976, at Callaway High gym. Featured speaker will be Mr. Bob Devaney, Athletic Director from the University of Nebraska.

20 YEARS AGO:

Two CHS students will be taking part in the Nebraska Ambassadors of Music tour to seven European countries this summer. Nichole Archambault and Ashley Baldwin Halouska have been raising funds for this trip for the past several months.

As of March 6, total donations and pledges to the Callaway Building Fund have reached $469,491. The goal for the campaign is $550,000.

Callaway High School’s speech team traveled to Anselmo-Merna on Feb. 27, for the Loup Valley Conference Speech Meet. The Bear speakers brought home 17 medals and ribbons and finished in third place.
