The Bible says we have all been given special gifts and talents. And while some of us spend a good portion of our lives trying to discover just what those are, for one Callaway High School student, his talent is very clear.

50 YEARS AGO: Casket flags have been turned over to the local American Legion Posts by relatives and friends of a deceased veteran to be displayed on Memorial Day or any other day they see fit. The Callaway American Legion is planning to use these for Rose Hill Cemetery and will use them for their Bicentennial Project. The poles will be furnished by the American Legion or anyone who wishes to donate one.

Patrons who step into Callaway’s Nigel Sprouse Memorial Library will immediately notice a new look and feel a revitalized energy thanks to new leadership, and the timing is right as the non-profit prepares for its annual Soup and Pie Fundraiser on Sunday, Feb.
