The boys' basketball holiday tournament will be held in Brady on Dec. 29-30. Teams that will participate will be Callaway, Brady, Wallace, and Oconto. Residents are reminded to keep all dogs chained or penned, as Callaway citizens have been complaining of overturned garbage cans and strewn garbage. In the future, all dogs, large and small, will be picked up, held, and a fee charged for their detention. - Marshal Bennett.

Dear Friends, Family, and Community, Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for the incredible kindness and support you have shown our family since we lost our home in the house fire on Dec. 8. Celebrating Improved Attendance

Body
The December meeting of the Callaway Board of Education began, as they always do, with acknowledging something or someone deserving of a special shout-out…a district celebration. This month, there was plenty to celebrate, as the AQUeSTT scores were released and Callaway Public Schools did very well.

Coping with Holiday Stress And Loneliness

Body
As the holiday season approaches, we often find ourselves immersed in a whirlwind of activities, expectations, and emotions. While this time of year can bring joy and togetherness, it can also be a source of stress and loneliness for many. Older adults are more likely to experience isolation, especially if they live alone or are far from family and friends. The holidays can amplify these feelings, leading to increased loneliness and sadness. Social isolation can have significant negative effects on both mental and physical health, contributing to conditions such as depression, anxiety, and a decline in cognitive function. Understanding the specific ways holiday stress and loneliness impact this population is crucial for providing the necessary support and care.
