ALCC Hosts Compost Days May 2 and May 3
Adams Land & Cattle (ALCC) is excited to be sharing their nutrient-rich and organic compost with local gardeners during their seventh annual Adams Compost Days. Custer County residents are encouraged to bring buckets and stop at their loadout facility, just north of the South Lot entrance on Highway 21. They will be giving out compost on Saturday, May 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sunday, May 3 from noon to 3 p.m.
ALCC is proud to announce that this year’s compost will be sourced from some of their newly constructed roller-compacted concrete pens at the South Lot. This new source produces a highly nutrient-rich compost with minimal soil content, ensuring a high-quality product. The 50-50 blend of manure compost and humus compost delivers significant benefits by enhancing soil nutrients and improving the water-holding capacity of soils.
Adams Land & Cattle would like to thank Bio-Ag Solutions for partnering with Adams on the compost process and delivering this product to the community of Custer County.
“With our continued focus on sustainability and recycling natural resources, the composting process creates a great product for the health of the soil,” said Abram Babcock, CEO of ALCC. “We truly enjoy being able to give back to our local friends and neighbors to support their gardens during our Adams Compost Days.”
Please note: These dates may be rescheduled or canceled pending weather and availability of compost. Check out the ALCC website (www.adamslandandcattle. com) or their Facebook page for more details.
